Alicia Fall is a person whose life could be summarized in one word - balance. A short visit to the two locations she calls home- New York City and Denver, CO - will prove just that.

A songwriter, lyricist, singer and musician, born and raised in New York, Alicia Fall draws from her rich cultural background (Eastern Band Cherokee, Danish, Cuban and Spanish) to paint a picture of the "American" experience. Her style is both unique and embraceable. Her truth speaks to the spirit within us all.

Alicia started her passion journey in New York joining forces with jazz greats Chico Freeman and Norman Hedman, and further strengthened her commitment to recording her own music. In 1998 she was introduced to Jon Solomon, also a Denver/New York musician, who was an inspiration and an integral part of bringing her album to fruition.

The result, an astounding premier CD entitled, "Headed For Amsterdam" is a blend of jazz, blues and soulful soft rock. The CD, written almost exclusively while touring Europe, addresses the problematic heart breaking reality of relationships between us all. Here, Alicia spans the gamut of love, politics and religion and the complexity of humans and their God with grace. The musicianship is first rate, as is the outstanding production work.

Alicia is a powerful performer that evokes emotional gut reaction. Listening to her for the first time is akin to the rhapsody of listening to Melissa Etheridge or Tracy Chapman for the first time. Her understanding of human nature, musical composition and a great ear for "what works" will transport listeners to a near heavenly experience.

Her performances have included the People's Fair, Highlands Festival, PrideFest, Herman's Hideaway, The Denver Arts Complex, Swallow Hill, Colorado Performing Arts
Festival, Naturally Native Film Release, Independent Film Festival, Denver PowWows', KUVO, KGNU, and one of her favorite performances is the occasional benefit concert for World Pulse, a powerful new publication whose focus is on women and children transforming the world.

In the past, Alicia Fall has worked with New York-Denver based conductor/flutist/percussionist Paige Vickery, New York based musician John Gunther, award winning songwriter John William Davis, and Denver rising star Melissa Ivey.

Presently Alicia is working with percussionist Lisa Wilson, guitarist/saxophonist Jon Solomon, wind instrumentalist John Gunther, and violinist Lionel Young.
